AW10 ALEXANDER MCQUEEN

It was probably the smallest show in Alexander McQueens history and probably not one that he has originally planned. But set in an 18th-centuary mansion owned by the Gucci Group, it was still as breath taking as how he had imagined it to be.

Instead of the many thousands fighting over a seat during his spectacular shows, this one was very different in many ways. A small group of people including journalists and the owner of PPR who was also McQueens boss were only present at the salon style presentation.

McQueen once said that his shows overpowered the clothes, but not in this instance. High-necked, closely fitted to the body with beautiful embroidery which took you back to the French Renaissance period. Satin, silk and curvy shoulders gave his garments a truly elegant touch with the McQueen legacy clearing coming to life before our eyes.

It was a bit strange flicking through the images of the show and it was a haunting experience. I am sure everyone who attended the show felt McQueen's presence just as much as I did just by going through the images of his last and final collection.

R.I.P ALEXANDER MCQUEEN

Words cannot describe how I am feeling right now. Total devastation, disbelief and sadness. I hope that the fashion genius is reunited with his mother. That is all I can say.

LOUISE GOLDIN LAUNCHES HER FOOTWEAR FOR TOPSHOP

If you remember back in November's post about Louise Goldin launching her footwear collection at Topshop, well the time has finally come. This February the hotly anticipated collection who's inspiration is taken from Baroque opulence and high-glamour, these babies will do any girl justice!

First seen on the catwalk of Louise's SS10 collection, the fusion between studded fierce attitude and diamante sparkling glamour is just so sexy and are available in Topshop stores as of 5th February in black and rose, cream from beginning of March 2010. Retailing at £150 they would look great with a cute little evening dress. I think you really need to make these shoes the focus of your outfit so you could team it up with this one shoulder dress by Rare, available at Topshop from £49! Along with this fierce Alexander McQueen clutch. Make any "cute" outfit look edgy.

ALEXANDAER MCQUEEN SS10

I was truly blown away by Mcqueen's SS10 collection when I was watching the video. It made me wish I was there. Could this be the future of fashion? As I was watching it from the start, it made me think about how far we have come with the fashion industry from the days of Coco Chanel and Christian Dior.

Designers in our generation are not only pioneering but so unbelievably mental it makes me wee a little! I totally j'adore it! Alexander McQueen's show was something that I am sure a lot of designers watched and thought "oh god, how am I meant to top that this season?" Everything from the big industrial machines with the camera's, the psychedelic feel you get when you glance into Mcqueen's pieces and the edgy platforms that make women look so 2050! Love it.

This Is Why I love Alex.

Alexander McQueen is probably the best thing to come out of East London. The sheer execution of these garments are breathe taking. I will stop now or else I will make a mess.
