MEN MEN MEN

Ok, so I know I haven't really blogged much about the menswear shows which were held in Milan and Paris recently, but London menswear is right around the corner and I actually cannot wait!

Two looks that I absolutely love are from Balmain and Burberry... The double B's had such amazing shows but I have to say I was kind of dissapointed with Balmain, especially, when they only have 6 looks for men! 6 bleeding looks?!?!

The brass on the shoulders and cuffs for the Burberry show has to be a very sexual touch. I j'adore it and it's definitely something I will be rocking in somerset house next week. The other look is a rather smart with punk edge. I love black, I love blazers and I love Balmain.

PRADA A/W10 MENSWEAR SHOW

Words cannot describe the Prada AW10 collection. It's a show that was much anticipated and it definitely did not fail to deliver. The collection was very fresh, masculine and chic... Wouldn't we all just want a Prada boy. J'adorable!

ASH FOOTWEAR

ASH "Virgin" High Tops, £125

I just bought these absolutely j'adorable pair of ASH high tops and just had to post something about them!

I had my eye on them for a while now so I thought I would pay a visit to their flagship store in Marylebone High Street and try them on. As soon as I slipped them on I felt like I was floating in air. Sliding my foot inside a pair of these babies was just such an incredible and intense feeling I can't describe. You only have to try them to realise what I am talking about.

The outside of the shoe is very similar to All Star's but the ASH version is so much cooler! I mean, to start with, the leather just feels like butter melting into your hands, and the inside is all padded so you literally feel like you're on a 24hr suspension. They are brilliant! And look great with anything in your wardrobe guys.

This Italian brand really knows how to make good shoes, check out their website here.

TELFAR, UNDERGROUND MENSWEAR

Telfar has been dressing the underground kids of New York for some time, and now he hopes to be going mainstream. His clothes are, in a sense, unique. You maybe thinking they don't look like something that you would want to wear, and I do too... But never say never. I find his clothes bizarre but quite interesting. It's like car crash fashion, I don't want to look but I can't help it!

MATTHEW WILLIAMSON FOR MEN

Matthew Williamson has announced he will be unveiling his own menswear SS10 line, with the hope to expand further.

It wasn't long ago that Victoria Beckham announced her vision for men and having David head the collection which is rather exciting. It could go horribly wrong OR we could soon be having men with golden balls walking around London?

Anyways, according to VOGUE the MW menswear line will be available from February 2010 and stocked in Harrods and, of course, MW Mayfair store and online. But girls don't fret- I am sure you can borrow some of the pieces, after all,we all love to wear our boyfriends clothes, don't we?

LATEST TRENDS FOR YOUR EVERYDAY WARDROBE

Ok, so I get a lot of feedback from people and the main one that always comes from men is "we want to see more about menswear!" I have to admit, I don't really enjoy menswear as much as I do womenswear. For me menswear is just all about the same shapes, cuts, patterns. Not many men actually like to experiment with their clothing in fear of being perceived as being "gay".

However, all that has now changed in the past few years, firstly being "gay" is cool! Yes, all you dirty hetro's out there embrace your inner metrosexualism (it will get you far more women than you expect). Men have become increasingly aware of their looks and dressing habits and are a lot more independent in shopping; No more shopping done by their girlfriends or god forbid their mothers! Hallelujah!

So here's what a well dressed man should really ever need in their wardrobes:

THE PLAIDED SHIRT

A Kurt Cobain inspired plaided shirt with slim sleeves is what you need to give you a more of a mature yet playful look for the weekends.

BASEBALL JACKET & STRAIGHT LEG JEANS

A nylon or maybe a leather baseball jacket to go perfectly with some sexy straight legs! Straight legs were never hot, but now with their cool updated style. Its perfect! But remember boys NO BOOT CUTS!

THE DENIM SHIRT

This is one of the hottest pieces, and it goes great with everything! Shopping, dinner party, or maybe even just go or a preppy look? This is what you need!

THE V-NECK SWEATER

Don't like vibrant colours? I don't. But this is great for summer, and something I'm totally going to try out myself, I don't wear much colour but I think a vibrant colour paired with a dark polo would look fantastic, especially with 3/4 length jeans and loafers.

HOT NEW DESIGNER ALERT!

Christopher Seal, an LCF menswear student is set to take the London fashion scene by storm. His breath taking garments are exactly what every man needs his wardrobe. When I first saw this shirt I was quite taken aback. I just instantly screamed I FUCKING WANT THIS!!! (So I hope I actually DO get one) I love the detailing on this piece, it reminds me of something between Vivienne Westwood & Alexander McQueen.

Speaking to Seal, he told me. "The inspiration for the shirt came initially from a picture by H.R. Giger and my love for Space which them led me to the idea of 'Connections' and the reality of connecting to other worlds. My aim was to create a shirt that at the time retained formal and traditional elements."

I love the architectural aspect of the shirt and its a piece that I see will definitely be gracing the catwalks very soon!

I Am Officially In Love

Feast your eyes on this delicious starter, main course AND desert; Thomas Ivasaki.

I'v had my eye on Thomas ever since I first saw him on fashion156.com, and I have to admit I just cannot get enough of this beauty! His mix is just out of this world... Wait for it... He is half Brazilian and half Japanese. This beauty is just divine. He's like a holy spirit. A higher being. Luxurious. Masculine. Feminine. Gorgeous. Stunning. A breathe of fresh air. He IS fashion.

You can tell I am in love, and rightfully so; check out more of his pictures here.
OH! And also... If you want to book him for a shoot (I know I will for my next job) go to Premier Models London.

Knighthood To Fashionhood

I was quite delighted to find Asger Juel Larsen's iconic chain hooded top juxtaposed with Gareth Pugh. It couldn't be a bigger compliment... As Larsen is a personal friend of mine from Uni, I have to say I am VERY proud of everything he has accomplished so far!

Oh and this Gareth Pugh top is just EPIC; I want one!!!!

Priests Can be Pretty Too

This new A/W09 show by Francisco Van Benthum's has proven that men can wear skirts. I love everything from his new collection and outstanded by his beautifully cut garments. Also, even though I'm not too keen on religion, he's definitely brought religion in to fashion... I wonder if God will be placing some orders this A/W?

Nevertheless, they are great structured garments and look extremely luxurious! Big thumbs up!

Cycling Shorts? Hmm...

... Im not very keen on this new Autumn look. I have always thought that cycling shorts are totally grotesque, so I will certainly not be supporting this look at all. Seen at Calvin Klein and Blaak im not too sure if this sporting item will get much support as a fashion item?

However! If you do like the look you can buy the Blaak cycling shorts (left) on farfetch.com, but even though I'm loving the whole stretchy look, I have to say the Americal Apparel shorts (right) which are similar, look quite a treat.

On Your Mark's... Get Set... Gucci

Celebrity collaborations within fashion houses are becoming increasingly fashionesque. Just like Kanye West for Louis Vuitton, Gucci have announced a new baby to their collection; The Mark Ronson sneaker! The amazing sneakers will come with quirky little details such as having the opportunity to get your initials embossed onto a leather tag to the laces, and you'll even get a 12" vinyl with all Ronson's exclusively produced tracks. The fierce sneakers will be hitting stores in the US in October 2009 and then hitting the UK sometime next year. But I have to say that I certainly jumped in excitement when I heard the news about this collaboration more so than Kanye West for LV, as Ronson is some effing hot piece of work!
